I was lucky enough to have dinner with Fabio for charity back in 2011. He was very gracious and accepted all the many requests he got for pictures and autographs at dinner. And he's wonderfully tall and still pretty darn good looking! We are two lucky women!

Gentle Rogue is my all-time favorite book, so I've worn out copies with just about all the covers. I've lost my original in moves, so the one I have now only has a picture of a manor house.

I really like the step-back covers but there are too many I like to mention them here.

I had the pleasure of meeting and dancing with John D at an RT Convention. He was such a gentleman when I introduced him to DD#1 and her friend. He even recommended a great place for us to eat in NYC that night. And he's as good looking in person as he is on the covers with no airbrushing.

I was also super lucky to have had lunch with Fabio in the RT offices back in 1991. He was gracious, and so tall.

These are the covers that I remember being stacked all over my grandma's room. For me there's kind of an ick factor.

Eloisa James Duchess series has some of the best covers with An Affair Before Christmas, being my favorite.

My all-time favorite cover is Tender Is The Storm by Johanna Lindsey. Robert McGinnis is the artist. I always liked his work, the men were usually rather homely but they had spectacular bodies, he used his wife as the woman quite frequently. This particular cover was the first to show a male butt sans clothing. The first run showed the butt, subsequent runs covered it with a gold seal.Very racy for its time.

Gentle Rogue is one of my favorites. I do like the stepbacks because I don't get fingerprints all over them.
I don't like headless males.
Not a fan of the current covers except Karen Hawkins'
Hurst Amulet series.
Give me some hot guys in little to no clothing and I am good to go.

I'm also a huge fan of shirtless hunks on covers, but WITH their heads! One of my biggest disappointments was getting Sandra Hill's "Truly, Madly Viking" to find John DeSalvo's gorgeous torso but not his equally gorgeous face. This was especially true because I first picked up a Sandra Hill book, "Sweeter Savage Love," because JD was displayed gloriously bare on the cover. I collect books with attractive men on the cover (all of Fabio, Joe Anselmo--he of "Mine to Take," John D, Steve Sandalis, Rob Ashton, Dominic Spinale, Stefan Andrea Schwarze, and now Nathan Kamp and Paul Marron) so I have 5 very full bookcases of all my wonderful works of art. I have read most of them though a good cover does NOT make up for lousy writing. One of my recent favorites was Karen Hawkins' "Scandal in Scotland" that had a good looking man on the cover and the stepback! The worst in my opinion have a cover with flowers or a landscape or a stepback that just has advertising blurbs.
By the way, the Annual Cover Contest is on for a few more days at covercafe.com if you'd like to vote on your favorites from last year. I used to be a member but I don't like the current cover trends (first Twilight and now Fifty Shades of Gray) enough but it's still a fun contest.

Love Love LOVE the clinch covers! That 'Gentle Rogue' by Lindsay is one of my faves.

Fabio was the most awesomest cover model! Also LOVED Rob Ashton's covers (and was lucky enough to meet him and sit next to him at an RT convention) and I miss him.

Mine to Take by Dara Joy is also a great cover

I also like the covers that have a cool castle or manor house on the front and a step-back cover inside with the clinching couple.

For contemporaries, believe it or not, I do not care for the cartoon covers over-much.

The Marquis Who Hated Women -- LOLOL! I love that title. And I like that he has a gun in his hand.

I'm a sucker for the gorgeous dress...until every historical has them, and then I begin to see the same thing.
