This week, two of our goddesses had new books on the shelves with two very different but equally yummy heroes.
First, from Susan Mallery’s SUMMER DAYS, is Rafe Stryker. Rafe is a
Rafe made my knees turn to jelly and my heart pound. He is DELICIOUS.
Next is Vince Haven from Rachel Gibson’s RESCUE ME. Vince is a
Vince is TO DIE FOR and will make you sigh.
Reading these two books so close together made me wonder, “If I could only have one, which would I choose?”
Cowboy?
Or Navy Seal?
The answer, obviously, is BOTH.
So tell us, have have you checked out Susan Mallery’s SUMMER DAYS and Rachel Gibson’s RESCUE ME? If you absolutely had to, which would you choose – a sexy Cowboy or a studly Seal?

I really want to say that I would have both but I do so adore my New Guy. Well the pregnancy blood test came back negative so as soon as I find out my rubella levels and whether or not I a booster shot, New Guy and I can do the things that need to be done to become parents. As for the books, sadly I haven’t read either yet but I do appreciate the Navy Seals in some of Sandra Hill’s novels

Kelly, New Guy sounds great! As for the books, they are both outstanding reads. I literally devoured them both in one day.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 7:14 am.
I hadn’t the time to read either of the books. I agree w/ KellyP that the option of ‘both’ sounds nice. A sexy & studly Navy Seal cowboy would rock anyone’s you-know-what.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 4:45 am.
Lol! And being rocked is good for the you know what, too.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 7:15 am.
LOL. You got that right!
Posted on June 5, 2012 at 6:44 pm.
I’d definitely go for the sturdy seal! I’ve been in contact with such guys (and learned a few tricks from them, like how to kill a man with your bare hands – which always makes me grin when they ask you that stupid question ‘Do you have any weapons on you?’) I love being around a man who’s dangerous, and a part of me would want to be some adventurer as well.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 5:23 am.
Nickie, wowza. You do make those seals sound SEXY.
Posted on June 4, 2012 at 7:32 am.
OH both. LOL I just got Rachel’s book so I will go with the Seal for now. LOL
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 6:42 am.
It really does have to be both, doesn’t it … I mean just LOOK at them!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 7:37 am.
I’ve not had the pleasure of getting either book yet but they are on my TBB list. To answer your question…. BOTH!!!! You made me drool right in my coffee this morning Ms Karen! Need a napkin before I dare step out of my office thank you very much.
I so appreciate the time and effort you put into hunting down these spectacular FROS for us!
Happy Sunday!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 7:02 am.
These books made it easy! They both begged for FROSing and so I did. Yummmmmy.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 7:38 am.
Ok so I just came home from church and had to take a second look. HOT DAMN! It should be illegal for those guys to look that good! Where is my fan????
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 11:34 am.
I have both, but I’m saving them for my flight to Scotland this Thursday
I’d choose the cowboy since theres no chance of him getting shipped away and I love chaps
Although when I lived in NY whenever the army came to the city me and my girlfriends would go crazy… lord they were easy on the eye… especially the marines and navy seals.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 7:27 am.
How about Cowboy Tuesday – Thursday, Navy Seal Friday – Sunday? Monday is….well you have to have a reason to hate Mondays, keeps us human.
Archer, we had Fleet Week was last weeekend. Yum yum. Sorry you missed it.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 7:38 am.
Fleet Week. I really need to get to NYC and do some research on that.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 7:39 am.
They have Fleet Weeks all over the country! Maybe there’s one near you.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 9:17 am.
I’m going to hope/pray they do. You know those have to supply some excellent story-telling fodder.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:35 pm.
Me too lol
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 9:17 am.
I have read Summer Days but haven’t read Rachel’s book yet. Think that will be today’s project. Think I will take both of the men. There are seven days in a week.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:30 am.
Both men and seven days a week. That’s well thought out Sandi. I like your math!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:36 pm.
What a choice! I guess cowboy? They’re home more?
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:54 am.
Why not? There is no ‘wrong’ in this equation. Heh!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:37 pm.
Being married to a SF man, I can say that it would depend on what we were choosing. If I was choosing a lover, I would be all over that seal. If I was choosing a husband, the cowboy would win hands down. I want a man who is home at night. He does me no good on the other side of the world.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 9:10 am.
Oh, and OMG, those seals are hot. I’m pretty sure they’re going to take a special place in my daydreams.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 9:11 am.
Maybe a Seal for your wild youth and a Cowboy for when you settle down? There has to be way to work them both in.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:38 pm.
I think that’s the best plan.
Posted on June 4, 2012 at 1:04 pm.
Let’s see, I have an autographed copy of SUMMER DAYS. And RESCUE ME is ready to go on the nook. I’m not sure which will get read first, but both will be equally satisfying now that I have a great visual of their heroes! I couldn’t choose just one, and think today I need both because a jackwagon of a customer shut my arm in the tailgate of his truck yesterday. One could tend to the wound, and the other…well, he could tend to…everything else!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 9:48 am.
Kelly, oh no! I hope you’re ok. How painful!
The books will not disappoint — they are both wonderful, wonderful reads – very different, and equally satisfying.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:39 pm.
Obviously if I could, I’d choose both. But if it came down to choosing, I’d pick the cowboy.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 10:12 am.
Hey, no one said you couldn’t have both. That’s my answer, anyway.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:39 pm.
I’ll take the cowboy who becomes a Seal… I mean, really, every Navy guy I’ve ever met wasn’t a guy who grew up on the coast – they’ve all been from land-locked states. So obviously, some of those have Got to be cowboys originally, right? Works for me.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 10:14 am.
Lol! And there you have it – the perfect answer.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:39 pm.
I would choose both too, but if I had to choose just one, probably the cowboy!
Love a hot looking man in a cowboy hat.
I just bought both and can’t wait to read them.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 10:17 am.
I do love those Levi’s, too. Yummm!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:40 pm.
yummy to both! but i would choose the cowboy mmmmmm i have summer days i just havent started it yet. unfortunately i do not have rachels book yet
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 10:51 am.
Cowboys do belong to the summer, don’t they?
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:40 pm.
Navy Seal, hands down!!! Don’t get me wrong. I love the photos of them half nekkid (makes my hands and mind want to wander). But there is something about seeing a Navy man in his dress blues that curls my toes!!!!!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 11:08 am.
And so you shall have him! I mean, them!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:40 pm.
Hmm. Column A or column B, what a choice. I’d take both, since they’re both favorites, but I won’t be greedy. I’ll just grab me a SEAL.
Both Rescue Me and Summer Days are patiently waiting on my Kindle to be read.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 11:35 am.
You’ll get a kick out of them. I sighed at the end of both and wowza. Simply excellent books.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:41 pm.
I have both of these books.. And OMG I could not have pictured more handsome hunky guys for these characters… I will take a helping of both please.. yummmy!!!!!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 11:45 am.
Ok Maybe that didn’t come out quite right.
But you know what the song says…Save a horse, ride a cowboy.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 12:57 pm.
Both it is, Kathleen!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:42 pm.
I have both books and will start them as soon as I finish the book I’m currently reading (hopefully today). I think I’m glad I didn’t start yet cuz I’m going to use these guys in my mind while a read the stories *sigh*
I’m with the others as I don’t know if I could choose. If I absolutely had to it would probably go with the cowboy only because it would mean I could have horses and ride whenever I want. ohhh double entendre *snicker*
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 12:23 pm.
Geez I need help this morning, I can’t even reply to my own post properly.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 12:59 pm.
Pamiam, no problem! I saw your response and knew it for this post. You’re good.
And so is your answer … heehee!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:44 pm.
After reading RESCUE ME, give me the STUDLY SEAL!! Wonderful book, Rachael.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 12:44 pm.
It’s fabu, isn’t it? One of my Gibson faves.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:44 pm.
Loved, loved, loved RESCUE ME!!! I have Summer Days, but haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but so far Vince is definitely ahead!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 12:58 pm.
There’s really no comparison – they’re both awesome heroes. But it’s fun to pretend to rank them. I think I’d put the Cowboy first … no, the Seal … no, the Cowboy … no, the Seal– It’s tough!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:52 pm.
I haven’t read either book, but I certainly will! And I think I am woman enough to take one of each, thank you! That’s my story and I am sticking to it!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 1:26 pm.
Louisa, of that, I have no doubt. Heh!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:53 pm.
I will take one of each please:)
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 1:39 pm.
The perfect answer.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:53 pm.
I want them both so I can have the bookend thing going, you know it wouldn’t be fair to either Susan or Rachel for their “book” to fall down on the job.So as a true friend I really have to insist on having both. It’s all about the friendship and caring for their feelings. Anyone buying this??
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 2:44 pm.
Eviqn, no, we’re not buying it, but we still agree with you. Besides, bookends are good. They’re both decorative AND useful. I like that!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:54 pm.
I love all men, but I have to say my favorites are those Cowboys. Fresh air, mountains, living off the land…and God they are gorgeous!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 4:21 pm.
Gorgeous, indeed. Mmmmmm!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 8:54 pm.
I don’t have either yet as they aren’t out on kindle in the Uk yet
I will have one of each but if I had to choose only one it would have to be the seal as I love a man in uniform!
Hey if i had the Seal then when he was away i’m sure the cowboy would fill in!!;)
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 5:15 pm.
Aw, Paula.
I don’t know why there’s such a delay. I’m sorry!
But I do like your Cowboy/Seal/Alternative Plan. I think it might be my fave yet!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 9:00 pm.
Just checked Amazon.Uk and Rescue me isn’t available in the Uk until 6th December ’12
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 5:19 pm.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 9:01 pm.
Just recieved Rescue Me in the mail, but have not had a chance to read it yet.
I’d go with a SEAL please. I mean, if you are taking requests… LOL
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 6:58 pm.
We aim to please here at FROS, Robin, so one Navy Seal ’tis!
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 9:01 pm.
Cowboy
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 10:10 pm.
Well, this is a tough one. I’m a country girl from Oklahoma so the cowboy is a tasty morsel I’d like to nibble on. However, I also served 6 years in the U.S. Navy during the Gulf War, so the overwhelming vote for me is the Navy SEAL. After watching these guys train in San Diego in their barely there short-shorts….YUMMY. Nothing better than doing sit-ups or push-ups a few feet from these guys.
Posted on June 3, 2012 at 10:15 pm.
kinda late to the party but if i was wondering if i’m allowed to say yes to BOTH Navy Seals LOL…sorry the aura of danger surrounding men in the armed forces just does it for me ( i wanted to say more explicit words but have to censor myself LOL)

Oh My Goodness!! What a choice! Now I’ve seen those handsome guys in San Diego, too. And a cowboy or two in Oklahoma & Texas. It is a close choice. Like one of the gals above said..Wowza…Yummy! I guess COWBOY since they are home more to keep those “home fires” burning.
Posted on June 4, 2012 at 12:27 am.
Just wrap them up & sent them over thank you!!
Posted on June 4, 2012 at 3:18 am.
Guess I’m a day late! I would go for the cowboy. I’m a huge country music fan. However, the bod’s on all of those guys are super! Looking forward to reading both. Amazon order is supposed to come in on Thursday….
Posted on June 4, 2012 at 5:59 pm.
Yes please to both or either. It’s hard to choose while looking at those ab ripples.
