I’ve been avoiding the site because I’m SO jealous I’m not in Anaheim. Because, really, I’m not jealous of ANYTHING else. I just wish I could meet you guys :’(

It’s been so much fun!

I’ve been working and working and living vicariously after reading all the exciting posts from RWA.
We had a mini surprise birthday party for my hubby a few nights ago (our 3 and 4 year old niece and nephew wanted to take him to the place that has all the indoor moonbounces and slides, but we were able to talk them into a simple dinner and some noisemakers LOL).

I’ve been reading the posts from the conference and daydreaming about the day I get to go.
It’s summer vacation for the kids and me so really I’ve been spending time reading and playing. Yesterday we played in the kiddie pool in the backyard and had water fights. It was very fun. Add housework and physical therapy for my kness in and you have the sum of my summer vacation.
I’m a very lucky girl even if I don;t get to go to the conference.
I sure am glad you all seem to be having a really good time though, and thanks for the pictures and updates!

Took Wednesday as a hookey day, went out with the girlfriends and hiked laughed and swam in a river and laughed and hiked and laughed and ate at an outdoor restaurant, and laughed and hiked and laughed and went home and slept, slept, slept.
A good time was had by all.

I don’t even want to tell you how bad this week has been. Lets just say that it involves my special needs son, a 2.5 hour meeting from h*ll, the police, banks, and changing locks on his door. I couldn’t even read yesterday. I am having fun reading your posts though.

Sandi, I hope next week is muuuch better. Hugs!

I’ve been drowning my sorrows in margaritaville because I’m not there with you this year.
Really, I’ve been working the day job, reading some good books, watching pre-Olympic coverage, enjoying the heck out of So You Think You Can Dance, playing with the dogs and trying to not be too jealous of all my friends in Anaheim.
Love the photos! Keep them coming!

I know you’ll be with us next year, PJ!

I have spent this week having a ball with coughing up a lung, spleen and a kidney. New Guy and I have been doing lots of stuff and I caught up on nearly all my uni stuff which is a Very Good Thing. I got lots of love from Acheron and Nawww (the next door neighbour’s kitten). The kitten has mistaken me for her mommy in that she tries to suckle my hand/jumper/cardigan/throw rug.

..and they all lived. . . well, if not contentedly, fairly happily until the next deadline and call from the editor and publicists and . . .
My week was nearly dull as dishwater. That’s why the GB (Goddess Blogs) and FB posts are there.

That was a really great retelling of what is really happening
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 8:27 am.
I won’t tell you that I have had a week from hell. It has been made better by your funny blogs and pics on Facebook. I’m glad to see you all having fun, with maybe an exception to Julia. I’m surprised she didn’t switch rooms with you since you saved her by bringing her chocolates, right? Oh well, just a thought.
Have a great week!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 8:28 am.
Yeah! Why DIDN’T she offer to switch rooms with us? Whazzup with that?

Sounds like you ladies are having an amazing time! We are hosting the International World Series of Beep Baseball this week (adaptive form of baseball for the visually impaired). I love when we get to host groups like this. They are a ton of fun, and have the added benefit of educating our community with their outreach.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Beep Baseball sounds like an amazing activity for the visually impaired. You’re right about the added benefits.

Thanks! It’s been such a great week–and the talent of these folks is quite amazing. Have a nice weekend.

Awww, y’all look like you are having so much fun!! I’m pea green!!
Stupid mold allergy is kicking my patootie this week, but I’m movin along.
Catching up on all of my shows that have been saved on my DVR. I went down another pant size, and the new capri’s I bought are already a little big!
Gonna keep working.

I just survived a tornado!!! (My home and family are fine, but the neighborhood is not so good.) I wish I could have been there with all of you lovely goddesses, the wine, the computers, the books, Julia’s shoes!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 9:57 am.
Oh my goodness! Thank God you and yours are okay.Does it really sound like a train?
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:32 am.
Lisa! You poor thing!!
Madeline, yes, it sounds like a train. I’ve also survived a tornado and the neighborhood looked like *&^% afterwards. It was men in chainsaws, roving the streets, clearing roads and driveways. It was, in some lights, adorable. We had 45 huge oak trees come down in that tornado. Our next door neighbor had two oak trees come down through his roof.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:54 am.
Claudia, it sounds as if you know exactly what I’m talking about. Many of my neighbors still don’t have power. I am one of the lucky ones.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 11:13 pm.
It is very loud!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 11:12 pm.
Sheesh, thankfully you and yours made it through. I hate that happened, Lisa.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 11:02 am.
Thank you!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 11:13 pm.
Lisa, ack! So glad you guys are ok!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 9:31 pm.
Thank you Karen! Me too!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 11:13 pm.
Thank you everybody. I am very thankful that my family is ok and also very thankful it seems as if nobody was injured. This is truly miraculous because of the amount of trees that fell into the road. Thank God no one was driving there at those moments. The sound was very loud, but we had torrential rain as well. It was as if our house was going through a car wash, rain pounding all the windows at once. It only lasted about five minutes and then it moved on.

Looks like you’re having a lot of fun! When the goddesses step down from Mount Olympus, craziness ensues…

I went to a party this week with some friends and met Janae, long time goddess friend, now face to face friend and got to know Becky well and recruited lovely party guests to joIn us here at TGB.
I had dinner with my friend Sheridan and tried to focus on our conversations but was FORCED to watch the back of the guy who must have been a Romance cover model. NB: new FROS idea – back view of beefcake hotties.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:26 am.
Funny you should mention it–in my current ms there is a scene with the same point of view. . .
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:34 am.
What have I been up to? NOT having fun with you guys at the conference. And worrying a manuscript to death (tweak, revise, obsess. . . )
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:31 am.
We missed you!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 9:31 pm.
I don’t know where this information came from. Karen and I have been behaving beautifully all week. I just texted Julia to tell her the post is clearly about a DIFFERENT Julia London. *g*
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:49 am.
I wish I could be there!! I haven’t been having one bit of fun. Well, except for going to movies. That’s been fun.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:55 am.
Is it just me or do I look really stunning in photos even when I am mad? By the way I am still missing some princess shoes and a tiara.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:59 am.
(looks at Karen) Don’t know what you’re talking about.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 11:11 am.
Heehee!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 9:32 pm.
You sound like your having so much fun! I swear have the people on my FB are there and I’m kicking myself for not making it happen. But I’m still having summer fun, time outdoors on the Frio river with my hubby and kids, along with my sisters and their kiddos.
Suzanne Enoch I just finished your latest and it made me cry. Just five minutes was heartbreaking. But I knew I could count on you for a very happy ending!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 11:36 am.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Jolene!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 5:39 pm.
Great photos and column! Thanks for sharing.

Spent some time reminiscing about last year at RWA and missing you guys. Looks as though you’re having a grand old time despite the friendly rivalry. Love the computer setup. I actually have a day off from babysitting tomorrow and plan to spend it reading. Most of Sunday is free, so have planned lunch with my BFF.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 12:11 pm.
It sounds like you gals are having a blast. So bummed here, dodging freakish weather. When did I move to Kansas? I live atop a mountain amid other mountains. Even so, not enough to keep me from missing everyone. Off to search for other distractions—although the sky is looking iffy yet again.

I went to this little party on Wednesday, where I got meet some longtime Goddess friends face to face – Fresh, Sheridan, and Louisa (who shared some of her book – and I can’t WAIT to read it when it’s published!), as well as some new friends from the convention.
Other than that I’ve been making lots and lots of hoop earrings with beads and without this week. So many that I’ve run out of 14 gauge wire – bronze and sterling – and later today I’m running to the hardware store for 14 gauge copper wire to be able to keep working on more earrings. I’ve made a pair of earrings and 3 pendants with PMC (precious metal clay – fine silver). I need to finish designing the necklaces for the 2 pendants.
I probably should go to the store, today, for some basics because I’m pretty sure we need milk, eggs, and bread, and stuff for easy lunches. I’ve just been busy making jewelry.

Janae, it was lovely meeting you!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 9:33 pm.
It’s great meeting you, too. My anti-princess daughter stole my tiara, lol.

Work
Finally read Christina Dodd’s Di Luca brothers trilogy.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 7:48 pm.
Ohhh, I love La Dodd. Hmmm. Might need to reread …

Went to this great event on Wednesday evening where I met MANY of my admired authors, and accidentally got invited to some Greek shin-dig. Decided to check it out, and low and behold I found goddess with tiaras….. and wine. I was excited that many of the goddess were some of the aforementioned admired authors, and had a thoroughly enjoyable time meeting them. So, after that unexpected surprise the rest of the week pales in comparison. Although I am having a difficult decision of what book to start next from all the amazing ones I got at the signing, and which one is the beachiest worthy for my beach camping trip next week.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 8:06 pm.
Jen, so glad you made it to Mt. Oly!
Have a lovely beach camping trip!
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 9:34 pm.
I think I’m going to stock up on tiaras for my friends and me.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:05 pm.
Glad you are having fun! I went to the author’s signing in NY last year. It was great! I guess it will be a few years till they come back here.
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 10:26 pm.
Well,Kretch1(really Raelene)ahem… and her sister Barbara stalked the goddess bloggers, along with many of their their other favorite authors at the RWA signing. Together we bought $210 dollars in books
you can never have too many books! We are anxious to hear how much all of the authors raised for charity. Alas, I am sad, as I couldn’t talk any of the authors into using my name as a key character in their books, the best offer I had was a dog, cat, horse! Hmmm OK I’ll take it.(Grin) We had an awesome time, and loved Sabrina’s get together, very intimate and selfishly we got a lot of her time. Then after the signing we dropped in on the Goddess blog suite, were lots of love for all the authors abounded in the room. PS. I loved the crowns. Too cute!!!
