Whatcha reading?

With all this talk about RWA and Goddess antics, we can’t help but think of the one thing that really ties all of us together – books! There were SO MANY books being bought, signed and read at the conference that it was enough to make one drool.

No matter who you are, there were familiar authors and unfamiliar ones, all with lovely, tempting books in front of them. It’s a beautiful sight.

What are you reading? Been lost in any great stories lately? Chomping at the bit for a release coming out soon?

I am currently reading Born of Silence by Sherrilyn Kenyon. On Tuesday I have to go to my favorite bookshop and pick up several books that I have waiting for me. I am waiting for Time Untime and The Curse by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love.

    1. RobinRBL says:

I read the first 4 Dark Hunter books by Kenyon and liked them but then got away from para’s and haven’t gone back although I have several more here. Is here new book a dark hunter book?

      1. Kelly Proellocks says:

Time Untime is but The Curse is part of a series that she writes called The Belador series. Most of the action takes place in Atlanta Georgia.

  2. aida alberto says:

I am reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I love when I find new authors and I love her writing. Also read On the Island and it was also very, very good. She’s also a new to me author who I’ll be on the lookout for her next book to come out.

  3. Sue says:

I’m reading Julianne Maclean’s Captured by the Highlander. And loving it. Just finished a Nora Roberts two in one book The Royals of Cordina ~~ Gabriella/Alexander. I’m waiting for the next in Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold Series All Summer Long. Love those Stryker men! And the next Linda Lael Miller book; I think it’s Big Sky Mountain.

  4. RobinRBL says:

I just started Nora Roberts second book in the Inn Boonsboro set, called The Last Boyfriend and its pretty good.

Am looking forward to Lisa Kleypas’ newest, which I’ll order today.

  5. Angela says:

  6. kez says:

Just finished (this morning) The Garden Of Happy Endings by our Goddess Barbara and she made me cry. I rarely cry while reading -darn it Barbara! Jesus in blue jeans – loved the image. Thanks for the good read.

  7. Haley says:

Hmmm, other than our obvious Goddess books…..I just discovered Janet Chapman so have been catching up on her books, and very much enjoy them! Just finished Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas and am so looking forward to her new one coming out soon! Also, just finished Julia Quinn’s two latest books, which were fantastic. Eloisa James’ latest fairytale book was great, and I’m really looking forward to The Ugly Duchess coming out at the end of the year.

TBR is the latest series from Louisa Edwards (love her!). After reading all these posts I’m thinking that I need to put RWA on my bucket list to attend someday!

  8. Brenda Rumsey says:

Just finished Lucky In Love by Jill Shalvis, The Spy Wore Spurs by Dana Marton, and Summer Nights by Susan Mallery. Can’t wait for Tuesday when All Summer Long, Susan’s next book in the Fool’s Gold series comes out. Love those cowboys.

  9. JenM says:

Finally, a great book this month – I just finished The Many Sins of Lord Cameron by Jennifer Ashley and loved it so much that I just had to go back and reread The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie, which I loved even more the second time around. I cannot wait for Tuesday though, it’s the release of Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews. I’m clearing the schedule and locking the door for that one.

  10. Kathleen O says:

I just finished this morning Rescue Me by Rachel Gibson… Great, Great book…

Now I have a couple to choose from Lois Lane Tells all by Karen Hawkins, Breakaway by Deirdre Martin (love that series) or Taming an Impossible Rogue by Suzanne Enouch

  14. Glittergirl says:

I’m finishing up Donna Grant’s Dark Sword series so I can get caught up with her Dark Warriors releases this summer…gotta love those Highlanders ;-) They’re so HOT and these are SO tormented…
After that I’m torn between Larissa Ione’s Demonica/Horsemen Series or Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor Series, decisions, decisions…
Somewhere in there I have to sandwich Karen Ranney’s A Scandalous Scot because I love her and haven’t gotten her fabulous book read yet on my nightstand :-)
Oh and let us not forget the upcoming releases of Lynsay Sands, Lora Leigh, Kendra Castle, Lisa Hendrix (much anticipated and long awaited) and Janet Chapman!

  15. Karen H in NC says:

I’m currently reading an oldie by Liz Carlyle titled ‘A Woman Scorned’. I’m a little disappointed in the lack of action (and ladies, you know what kind of action I’m talking about). I’m on page 273 out of 424 so I’m almost done…and I know the action has GOT to start SOON! Then, today, I happened to read a blog posted at Heroes & Heartbreakers blog where the post was about the 5 hottest sex scenes and this book was mentioned! Well, I can tell you, THAT perked me right up! Must read faster because I know it’s there…I just have to find it! …sigh….

After I’m done with this book, I think I’ll finish Sabrina Jeffries’ Hellions books. I think I have 2 more books to finish the series. Loved them too but then Sabrina is one of my top 5 favorite authors!

    1. Archer says:

Love Liz Carlyle. Don’t think I’ve read a non-action book of hers :)

  16. dbrown3400 says:

Just finished an ARC of ‘The Other Woman’ by Hank Phillippi Ryan and highly recommend it for anyone who likes a good mystery filled with suspense. I’m in the middle of ‘Sorority Sisters’ by our own Goddess Claudia Welch and find it different and interesting. I’m also reading an ARC of ‘Dial “C” for Chihuahua’ a cozy I’m finding rather silly.

  17. Archer says:

Recently finished Danelle Harmon’s de Monteforte series… sooooo good! I’m currently reading Susan’s Summer Nights… Can’t wait until Clays book… Lordy he makes me smile :)

  18. Freshechelle says:

Recently started the latest Candis Terry who I got to thank personally at RWA for the book I won here at TGB. Also reading a novella or short story book she contributed to.

Just finished The Great Escape by SEP – great read as always.

  19. TrishMc says:

Last night I finished Moonshell Beach by JoAnn Ross. I LOVE this series. Tonight I will start Scandal Wears Satin by Loretta Chase.
I’m looking forward to the 9/4 release of Pitch Perfect by LuAnn McLane. This series has hooked me good.

  20. Pamiam says:

I am currently reading The Passion of Patrick MacNeill by Virginia Kantra. I have also read Love Bites, a cute collection of stories that involve pets. I am (im)patiently waiting for Tuesday when there are at least 5 books that hit the shelves. :-)

  21. Janae says:

I’m waiting for Jill Shalvis’ Forever and a Day to be released on Tuesday. In the meantime I’ve been making TONS of hoop earrings.

  22. TinaF says:

Recently read Christina Dodd’s Di Luca brother trilogy, love them.

  23. Stephanie G says:

I am re-reading Summer Days and Summer Nights by Susan Mallery in preparation for the release of All Summer Long on Tuesday. :)
