The first highlight this winter has been finding happiness and not cowing to my parents demands.
The second highlight has been getting my new laptop. Yeah I ended up going into debt for it but it was worth it since it is brand new and I have never had a new computer.
The third highlight has been reading lots of books and catching up on must see movies.

Congratulations both on the laptop and the freedom from other’s demands. Both are wonderful.

First highlight was hanging out with my mom more often due to her living in another town an hour away while I live with a cat by myself. Second highlight was reading tons of books and getting into new series. Third highlight was signing up for a class at a local college made my parents proud due to that they wanted me to do something to exercise the mind other than not doing much for the summer or the seasons other than reading books despite already having a college degree that doesn’t count towards anything. Oh well.

The top three, huh?
1. The weekend we found a lake we’d wondered about for years and found a playground for the kids there, too. We went there, to Chuck E. Cheese, and to get ice cream, all in one day. It was wonderful.
2. My husband got picked up as an instructor at work. The hours and pay are better than the job he had and it’s just a nice environment to work in.
3. Just getting to spend the summer with my kids after their first year of school. We are all on summer vacation and I am so grateful that I get to spend this time with them. Tickle fights are my specialty and we had dozens of them. We played Uno, and participated in the summer reading program at the library. It has been a golden time and I’m so happy that we got it.

Read a lot of books; got to spend quality time with DH when he was on vacation (he is still working, much to his dismay) and hearing that a good friend who was going through chemo most of this past year got the good news that the cancer was gone.

Good Morning!!!
Its been a very busy summer here and I am so glad it is finally winding down. I do not need to be entered into the contest as I’ve already read or already own each of the books
My top 3 for the summer:
1) The munchkin started the summer on Swim Team. I made lots of new friends and she LOVED it and excelled too
2) We traveled to Ohio for my cousin’s wedding (that the munchkin was a flower girl in). Got to see lots of family who we’ve not seen in a very long time.
3) We traveled to Philly (just last week) for my nephew’s baptism. I’m his Godmother and I’d not met him yet since we live so darn far apart. I got to play with my other nephew, hang out with my sister, see a bunch of old friends (we used to live in Philly), visit with my parents and my grandma decided to hop a Greyhound bus from Cleveland to come too (she is 87!)
Overall it has been a VERY busy summer. The munchkin starts back to school on Monday!! We met her teacher yesterday and I am really excited about 3rd grade for her! Happy Saturday!

1) Got a puppy! After months of pouting and begging hubby for a puppy, he caved! We are now the proud parents of an English Pointer/Spaniel mix
2)The Olympics – yep, was one of ‘those people’ whose life revolved around the television 24 hours a day
3) Built a fence – yep, my life is that pathetic that a fence made my top three choices! Honestly though, I love being able to walk around the yard in the middle of the night with pupster in my pajamas and not have to worry that people are looking at me – and its a really nice fence, a stick-built stockade fence.

The summer started off with me leaving the kids with Grandma, hopping a plane to California, meeting DH there, and then helping him drive the company van back–via the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, and showing him the city of my birth–Clovis, NM. It was a great week to reconnect. Daughter was on swim team, and well, that was fun to volunteer to stand and time races. She did really well. Third, we got a kitten. We went to the Farmer’s market for produce and came home with a cat in addition to peaches and corn.

We camped for a week-end with our son and his family. The grandchildren loved it. In July we had two nephews visit us. They live in SC. Next Wednesday we will get our second dog. Pepper is a younger sister to Chewie…same parents different litter.

Top 3…well here goes:
1- This is the biggest. I taught my youngest 2 children (and Hubby) how to fish. They are now ‘hooked’ on fishing. LOL
2- Hubby found a job after being laid-off in Feb.
3- Got my laptop back after it crashed and had to get a new hard-drive. Didn’t realize how addicted I was to it until it was gone.
Also, read a lot of books including the 50 Shades Trilogy (hugely disappointed).

First would be taking my son, 21 months, to CA to meet our families. That was amazing! (The plane ride, not so much) hehe
Second would be all the time spent in the ‘wa-wa’ This kid is obsessed with water and would spend all day in there if you let him!
Third would be, I taught myself to crochet. So now I have something to do during ‘Mommy time’ and that will be amazing for a long time!

A friend from elementary school that I have not seen in 20 years called a week and a half ago. She and her son came to Montana from Texas to visit his father/her ex and step-daughter/step-sister. It was a very unexpected phone call. I enjoyed the visit.
