I have just finished a delightful little book, Mrs. Queen Takes the Train. It’s about Queen Elizabeth, as we know her now. She is depressed. She’s spent her life in service to her country and she yearns for something a little different. She’s into yoga and the internet, but she would like to walk beyond the palace walls. So on the spur of the moment, she decides to take a train to see The Brittania, the royal family yacht that is no longer in commission. It’s great fun!
So now I am wondering what to read next? I have The Innocents (a remake of The Age of Innocence), Wolf Hall (had this on my pile for quite some time) and The Tender Mercy of Roses by a new author I’ve never read. Can’t decide.
What’s on your TBR pile? What’s a book you’d recommend?

I am currently working my way through Robin D Owens series about women who are summoned from Earth to a planet called Aimee which is under threat and the only book on my TBR pile is one by Aussie author Anna Campbell. Can one have a pile of one books?

Oh my goodness, there are WAY too many books on my TBR pile. I’ve also put a bunch of books on there that I’ve already read but wanted to read again. I find, though, that I can’t read while I’m writing, so I have to wait another month or so until I’m finished this novel before I can tackle my pile. But when I do, it will be speedy! One book per day for about 3 weeks and I’ll be done with my pile. Then I’ll start writing another novel and the pile will grow once more

I don’t have a TBR pile, I have a TBR MOUNTAIN!!! As in Mount Everest! As in K2!! If I didn’t buy another new book, I could read for a flippin’ year and not read the same book twice!! Not that thats going to stop me from buying new books, mind you!!
As for what I’m reading now, I am currently working my way through Grace Burrowes’ back list and thoroughly enjoying it. If you haven’t read her books, GET TO IT!!!

I just bought Game of Thrones yesterday! I’m so eager to begin it, once I finish my pages for today. I’m being such a good girl.

Ohhh, I love what are you reading posts!
Still swooning from this week’s Downton Abbey (gee, but I love that show) I’m reading LADY ALMINA AND THE REAL DOWNTON ABBEY, which is written by the Countess of Carnarvon, the current occupant of Highclere Castle, which is where Downton is filmed.
It’s a light, fun, fascinating read. Just the thing for a winter day in Florida. Well, if ’80′ can be considered winter.

There are too many books on my Kindle to mention, but there are two hardcovers staring at me: Lee Child’s, A Wanted Man, and Elizabeth Lowell’s, Beautiful Sacrifice. I also have a Saskia Walker coming in to review a/w/a a couple others.

Vanity Fare which was cute. The Kitchen House which was amazing and am now in the middle of The Light Between Oceans. I’ve gotten to the good part and don’t want to stop reading. Up next will be The Book Thief, The Fault in Our Stars and there’s a third one on my other wishlist that I know I’ll be reading, too. There’s so many I just can’t remember the name of the book.

The Fault in Our Stars is another amazingly good book. Really, really enjoyed it.

Isn’t Vanity Fare great? She’s so funny.

I had not heard of Mrs. Queen. Just finished Gone Girl and it was fantastic. I also just started listening to Wolf Hall on my shuffle. I keep thinking “That’s not how it happened in the Tudors.” Ha.
We just read Night Circus for my book club. A brilliant, beautiful, ridiculously creative book.

My TBR pile takes up several shelves, so it’s hard to pick one … or even two or three or four. But at the top are Meljean Brook’s Heart of Steel and Riveted, since we’re reading Riveted for bookclub and I ADORE the Iron Seas series.

Mrs. Queen takes the train?

I have spent the entire winter break reading my TBR pile and now have it finished. I have resisted the temptation of finding more (thanks for the post, ugh…) as “winter is coming” and I have Game of Thrones books 1-4 on my iPad.
I have until February 26th to read them as at that point I have to download 3 Goddess books!

Lots of good books mentioned here! I also have Game of Thrones but am saving that because I’m afraid once I get started I won’t be able to stop.
My book group just read One Good Dog by Susan Wilson–really liked it, a sad/happy book. This month we’re reading The End of Your Life Book Club, a memoir by Will Schwalbe about his mom, her terminal illness and their love of books. It’s supposed to be very uplifting, though!

Mrs. Queen sounds delightful! Right now I’m reading a book about the Highland Clearances, but I’d rather be reading Frozen Heat by Richard Castle (yes, I’m behind). *g*

Just finished Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich and am waiting for Dream Eyes by Jayne Ann Krentz and Holiday Buzz by Cleo Coyle to arrive. I also want to get Perfect Fit by Carly Phillips. I’m rereading the Hellions of halstead Hall while I’m waiting, I never get tired of them. I too am afraid to start Game of Thrones because I have a feeling it will be all encompassing.

I have a TBR pile of 25 – 40 books.
Currently I’m reading Joseph Kanon – The Good German, next probably Conn Iggulden Emporer: The Gods of War.
For my holiday this month I have on my eReader: Julie Garwood’s Sweet Talk and Rachel Gibson Crazy on You.

I just sent our library director a list of books all coming out Jan 29th. Then I find out that she is in Ireland for a week (guess you can do that when you don’t have kids
Anyway, I’m going to try Jennifer Ashley’s other books, the ones that aren’t historical romance. I’m also reading books about house building, and architectural books…those are pretty boring and I wouldn’t recommend them unless you need the information.

I’ve been reading a lot of new to me authors lately, and then I go back to the tried and true for a while. Right now I’m finishing up one by Jill Shalvis (tried and true). Next up? Who knows. The TBR pile is big, but I keep looking at Gone Girl, Home Front by Kristan Hannah, and The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorenson. I do believe that is in first perosn so it may get pushed aside for a bit! I like to see what interests other people, so thanks for this!

My TBR pile is HUGE! But I am looking forward to reading Guardians of the Stone by Anita Clenney; The Lady Risks All by Stephanie Laurens and Prince of Ravenscar by Catherine Coulter among many, many others.
I may have to find Mrs. Queen Takes The Train. Sounds fun and funny.

I have an entire bookcase full of unread books, I am so ashamed of myself because I have nearly stopped reading anything not on my tablet. I have a metric boatload on the tablet and on Amazon to be downloaded.
Reading Darkness Reborn by Stephanie Rowe. And then in no particular order: A Dark Kiss of Rapture- Sylvia Day,Demon From The Dark- Cole, The Gatekeeper _ Graham, Grimm Diaries 1-6 by Cameron Jace, Penelope Moonswoogle, the Girl who Could Not Ride A Dragon -Rowe, and another reading of Beyond The Night by Joss Ware. Of course this is subject to change if another book catches my fancy and I hit buy it now.

A book I would strongly recommend if you haven’t read it is The Host by Stephanie Meyer, I love it so much I have it in the trade paperback and loaded on my tablet & IPhone. I am looking forward to the movie and hoping like anything they don’t screw it up.

For the past, I don’t know, 5 years, I’ve had a book on dealing with Children with Asperger’s. My son has a mild version, so I started reading the book years ago when we got the diagnosis, but blew it off for more frivolous stuff because his case was so mild and we were doing what we’d been told to do.
But after watching Dr. Phil yesterday (a real downer about a kid who did NOT have Asperger’s), I realized it’s time to pick up the book and learn some more. Because there are areas that I have clearly not worked on with him where he needs to grow, and I’m not sure how to help him.
My first thought was to take the easy, insanely expensive way out and go to a doctor. But then I thought, hmmm, in your effort to remake yourself this year, perhaps you could read the book you already spent money on, and help both yourself and your son.
So, How to Raise a Child with Asperger’s it is.
